NYE

I’m back in Berlin.  I flew in just in time to ring in 2013.

NYE

Fireworks are a big deal on New Year’s Eve, in like, a slightly terrifying ‘am I in a war zone?’ way.   Here’s two videos I took during the festivities.  The first, is about five minutes post midnight.

This second video is about half an hour later as emergency vehicles race to deal with various revelry related incidents.  As you’ll see, people barely notice this fact.

Emergency vehicles be damned.  Fireworks stop for no man.

Before all this excitement, I was home in Southern California for Christmas.  Things were busy and crazy, but it was wonderful to be home to spend the holiday with my family.  Here’s a few shots from the last two weeks.
